LETTER FROM DR. VIJIL - SUPERINTENDENT
Two learning options for students
Fabens ISD families will select from two options for their children. We will communicate the process for making the choice soon.
Option 1: Traditional: In-person instruction on campuses with increased disinfection protocols.
Option 2: Full-time virtual learning.
Parents and guardians will be contacted to select the preferred educational setting for each student.
School hours have changed to allow for smaller groups of students on busses for social distancing requirements.
Fabens Elementary and O’Donnell Intermediate school will start at 8:00 AM and dismiss at 3:00 PM. Fabens Middle School and Fabens High School will start at 8:30 AM and dismiss at 3:30 PM.
The Fabens ISD calendar features intersession weeks, which consist of special days where students have the opportunity to participate in remediation, acceleration, or enrichment activities, similar to summer school offerings in previous years. These intersession weeks will provide flexibility in case there is a need for a district closure or a delayed start date to our school year, which is currently Aug 10, 2020.
