student parking passes
The new school year has begun and one of the biggest changes is the requirement for parking passes for students to park on campus. In order to park in the student lot, students must have a driver's license and insurance. The student parking lot was rebuilt and remodeled over the summer.
“I think the parking passes are a great idea,” said security officer Mr. Rick Chavez. “It promotes safety for students and faculty. The reason behind implementing the new rule was due to having accidents the year prior. People were not insured and so we decided to make safety our number one priority.”
With the parking pass came some downsides. “Unfortunately, there are a lot of students parking outside of campus, which tells us that they may not be insured or have their license, which can be a safety hazard to the community,” said Mr. Chavez the security.
Students may obtain a free parking pass in the security office.
